Completely Unaware

“I hope the best and the brightest who will be joining the new president will at least entertain the possibility that a lot of what they think they know is wrong,” [Serial Errorist William] Kristol added. Theresa Cook and Kate Barrett, An Economic Transition, A Political Dance, ABC News

My question: why is anyone pretending Bill Kristol has something to say worth listening to?

Well, if the positions of Obama’s economic team as compared to the position of Obama are anything to go by, Obama and the campaign do have a lot to learn:

This isn’t a post in support of Kristol so much; I don’t really care a whole lot one way or the other about Kristol, and I much preferred Tierney back when he was on the NYT op-ed page. However, I think it’s pretty clear that with respect to economics and the incoming team, Kristol’s right here that there’s a lot to learn.

By the way, I very much like Obama’s economic picks; they’re excellent economists with a bit of a pragmatic, non-ideological streak to them. I’m especially a fan of the Christina Romer pick. It’s going to be an interesting four years of watching Obama’s economic team.
